Hey there party people. Some of you are probably wonder "Do they really make face makeup" and the answer is yes. If there’s a will there’s a way and people will always find a way to get the ole mighty dollar. I will show tell you a few ways how you can tell a fake palette from the "Authentic" palette.
First I'll touch on the color. If you look at the real one it is a bit darker from the fake one. The real one is more of a chocolate color while the other one is more like milk chocolate.

One way I can tell right away to start questioning the authenticity of a palette is the size. Most will post the picture of the outside first. The authentic palette is thin while the fake ones are thick as you can see in the picture below. This right here will get me questioning the seller.

Looking at the lettering you can see that the real one has bright gold lettering with great detail. The fake one does not have that at all. The fake one is more faded and you can't really see the lines and detail on it like on the real one. This is for the front and the back of the palette. On the fake palette the lettering is way off along with the placement of the borders.

Looking on the back of the palette you should see a serial number. This is on the outer box and on the palette. The fake one does not have a serial number and if it does the most common one seems to be AL3. Note, this may be on the box but not on the palette itself. Also, look at the lettering, the border spacing and the color.

As you may not be able to tell in the photos below, the pigment is also off. The real palette the colors have some life but the fake palette it's kind of dull. On my palette though the colors are written on the palette. The fake one they are written on a plastic piece that covers the shadows. Although I'm unsure of how they use to make them but I bought 2 palettes from the same person. My semi chocolate palette had the colors written on the palette and the chocolate had them on the plastic piece. If you look at the swatches, the fake palette's candied purple and milk chocolate is dull. The crème brulee on the fake one is more bronzy than it is gold in person.

Check out the smell of the palettes as well. The real one smells so delicious I swear it does. The fake palette makers seem to have gotten better so Too Faced has changed the palette. The fake one I have does have the chocolate smell but there could be some that doesn't. Don't worry, you smell it as soon as you open the palette if you have any question about it.
I hope this has helped someone. One of my friends didn't know that there were fakes out there so I'm pretty sure someone else doesn't either. So party people, you ain't gotta go but you gotta get the heck up outta here....but stay tuned for more.
